Frequently Asked Questions

Community and private event space near Barwon Heads

Why is there only one bin within the park?

The park is not a local government facility, and hence bins would not be cleared like a regular service. The park is managed and maintained by the association’s volunteers who keep the park as clean as possible.  We have one bin at the entrance as well as dog bags for disposal. Additional waste we encourage you to take home.

Where are the toilets in the park?

Sadly, the Association does not have the volunteer or financial resources to adequately maintain permanent toilets. It does, however, provide them for the Tranquility Fair  Public toilets are available in the nearby town centre car park.

Where is Ocean Grove park located?

The Park is centrally located between Presidents Avenue, Draper Street, Hodgson Street, and The Avenue. Just two blocks behind Ocean Grove’s main street.

What amenities does the park have?

Located in the park, you will find:

  • A Pavilion with indoor and outdoor spaces to book for events and disabled access
  • Three playground spaces full of various playground equipment for all ages
  • Open green space to kick the footy, kite fly or throw the dog a ball
  • A fun & fitness trail with two different sets of fitness equipment
  • 45 hectares trees and flora, including unique Bellarine Peninsula Yellow Gum trees
  • Walking paths

Why should I join the Ocean Grove Park Association?

Becoming a member is a great way to get involved in the community. There are various ways to get involved, including worker bees, letterbox drops or assistance during events. Our volunteers are the key to the management and success of the Park.

What does Ocean Grove have to offer tourists?

Located on the southern coast of the Bellarine Peninsula, Ocean Grove is a coastal town with surf beaches, parks, and dunes galore. With our twin coastal town, Barwon Heads, a short jaunt across the Barwon River, you will find our region offers some of the best beaches, golf courses and coffee shops outside of Melbourne.
